Case History - Personalized Golf Towel

Objective of promotion: Our SG35 personalized Simba Golf Towel was used as a “thank you” for golfers who each paid $300 to play in the 30th Annual Cornerstone University Scholarship fundraiser in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  This is one of the major money makers for the four-year Christian college.

How was the product used?: Golfers who registered early were told they would receive a personalized gift; they received their Simba Golf Towel, with their names woven in, at the beginning of the day.  Golfers who registered late got the same towel, but with generic copy reading “30th Annual” woven in place of the name.

What was the result? The University said the towel enhanced the experience for the golfers, many of whom play every year.  “It was something a little more personal,”  said the distributor sales rep who ran the program  He also added that golfers who did not receive the personalized version wanted one with their name on it.  This strategy is certain to encourage golfers to register earlier for the next event.
